Soviet ‘Legendary Tachanka' Bronze Statuette

Circa 1950's-1960's, Ukraine. USSR socialist realism sculpture. A reduced copy of the monument in Kakhovka (a town in Kherson, Oblast, Ukraine).  The 'Legendary Tachanka' is a monument erected in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, dedicated to the battles on the Kakhovsky bridgehead during the Civil War. Originally purchased in Kandahar, Afghanistan encased in solidified sand.
