Beautiful Early Trippensee Tellurian- A chain driven tellurian designed to show the orbits of inner planets around the sun. Venus and the earth rotate about the sun, while the moon rotates around the earth as the arm is turned. Manufactured by The Trippenssee Mfg. Co. Patent Allowed for August 15, 1907. Early model.
Featuring Cherry planet arms and central spindle. Brass base, spun brass sun. Cartouche on globe indicates this was made in Detroit, Mich. (Trippensee Mfg. Co. location prior to 1927). Manufactured between 1910 and 1925. (Models before 1908 used combination of string pulley).
All original. Tinned lithograph calendar dial with yellow background and distinctive early font is clear and crisp.
Professionally restored and functional.
