Original Stereo-graphoscope by H.C. White. "The Stereo-Graphoscope" was an early image viewing device that combined the Graphoscope (non-stereo images) with the Stereoscope (stereo images). To switch between modalities, the lenses can be rotated 180 degrees.
Late 19th century, US made with brass hardware over Maple and Walnut. Superb optics with original lenses and age-appropriate patina. Lens and photo distance adjustable.
Before the age of social media, devices such as this were used to display and share images of travel, moments of historical significance, and family memories. For use with 3.00" x 5.25" stereographs.
