An interesting early 19th century Universal Equinoctial Dial, likely German or Dutch made. This folding dial features 2 latching hooks, original glass, blued-steel needle on Ruby pivot, locking bar, graduated equinoctial ring, compass card, and collapsing latitude scale. Intended for -7 degree magnetic variation, this dial was likely made for a Polish audience, functioning best near Warsaw. Hand-cut screws, with a '3' marked on inside of folding latitude scale.  Roman numeral hour markings,  measurable to 15-minute intervals. Folding latched Mahogany box with original hardware and glass.
