Fine, German 18th Century Barograph by G.K.E Schroder Optical Instruments. Hand-crafted in Hamburg and encased in a lovely wood & glass box with metal handle and push latch closure. Mechanics are composed of fine brass and copper. Fully functional & professionally restored. A true collectors piece with a fantastic age-appropriate patina.
Barograph's such as this, were used to detect atmospheric pressure records and changes over time. Barograph contains an aneroid barometer, connected with needle that records data through a continuous pen & ink trace on the chart.
