1794 J. Sowerby 'Water Lilly- White' Engraved Hand Colored Print

Framed White Water Lilly colored print by James Sowerby. Published in 1794, this fantastic 230 year old print is a tribute to British flora; meticulously depicted in Sowerby's renowned botanical work, 'English Botany' (Volume: British Wild Flowers). Such detail is portrayed through the intricate copper engraving and original hand coloring. Title: Water Lilly- White (Page 160). J.Sowerby's 'English Botany' was considered the "most complete work on the flora of Britain at that time". Displayed in a lovely and theme-fitting, custom Copper frame. This piece from Volume 3 is an earlier work in Sowerby's career, with 36 Volumes ultimately being published from 1790-1814.
