Interesting Victorian Revolving 'Nautilus' bronze and glass Inkwell by JL Encrier Bascule Paris. Ecru porcelain nautilus design rotates on ornate bronze side hinges. When closed, the Nautilus' opening rests against ornate bronze seal; To open, simply rotate downwards. The bronze base plate keeps any excess ink from dripping. Late 1800's, French-made. Functional and sophisticated addition for a library or study.
