Elliot Brothers London Antique Box Sextant

This antique box sextant by Elliot Brother's London. Features a single draw telescope in case, with lid and original glass on telescope and magnifier. 

After William Elliot (founder of Elliot and Sons) passed away in 1853, his two sons rebranded to 'Elliot Brothers'.  In 1865, Charles Elliott retired while his brother, Frederick, continued his work individually until his death in 1873. This small window of time is when the 'Elliot Brothers' signature appears, dating this sextant to circa 1854-1864.
