Antique Microscope Lamp

Incredibly versatile & unique all-brass antique magnifying device. A detail lamp for use during precision work in evening/nighttime hours (or low-light level conditions). Originally would have had a spherical water lens. The candle with wax-catcher is adjustable in height. Each arm moves independently, above a 3-arm base supported by round, incurved, tapered feet.

This device would have been used alone or to enhance the effectiveness of a microscope.  The candle provides focused light on a direct object to be magnified through the rotating glass lens and/or sphere.
