An interesting fossil of the World Fair; this brass-plated Sundial & compass features an Egyptian Hieroglyph back, a small button compass (with half-blued steel needle), and an adjustable folding gnomon for 35,40,45 degree latitudes. Also made for wear on a pocket chain. American made, this piece was originally sold as a souvenir during the 1939 World Fair in New York City. Inscribed with 8 cardinal points on compass face.
