This excellent & scarce Burns's Patent Bottle Lock & Key Set is a remarkable find. Granted "Her Majesty's Royal Letters Patent" by Queen Victoria in January of 1881, Thomas Turner & Co. was the sole maker of this mechanism. Designed to keep servants from partaking in libations, this lock & key set continues to function as originally designed. Manufactured in Wolverhampton, UK. Fits regular size liquor and wine bottles. Nickel plated brass with steel key, spring bolt and spring grips.
