A wick is placed inside the upward-slanting tube, with the extending spicket used to recycle oil down into the font's reservoir\/well.  Conical base with scalloped back-plate \u0026amp; mounting hole makes certain this piece was used as a hand-carried \u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eand\u003c\/span\u003e wall-mounted device. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA rare surviving early example of Flemish tinsmiths.
