1919 Russel Hawks Co. Tellurian

1919 Universal Planetarium by Russel Hawks Co. American made. 3-inch terrestrial globe made up of twelve gores, white-painted wooden moon with metal shadow, metal arm with maker's plaque and inset compass, spinning and rotating around 6-inch brass sun and circling black-and-white Venus via geared system, on turned wooden column to metal base with circular calendar, with green painted metal case, 12 1/4 x 19 inches.

An engraved inscription at the centre of the arm that supports the globe reads "UNIVERSAL PLANETARIUM/ PAT. JAN.. 7 1919/ RUSSELL-HAWKES Co./ KANSAS CITY MO.

Featured in The Royal Museums Greenwich at England's National Maritime Museum.
