Functional and complete early American Graphophone. Excellent condition. The Graphophone was first invented by Alexander Graham Bell in 1886, marketed as an improved version of Thomas Edison's phonograph. Graphophone's soon became America's first widely popular and distributed audio-playback technology. This particular model, from 1898 has a fantastic gilt finish, with minimal fading or wear, and wind-up clockwork drive mechanisms. This graphophone has been cleaned and polished, all materials original.
